Teaching the hardest working students requires the hardest working teachers. For students to catch up academically at an accelerated rate, teachers must do whatever it takes to meet every student where they are and help them reach their fullest potential.
- Rise students are in school from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM every day. They go to school for two to three weeks more than students in traditional public schools.
- All of our students have between one and three hours of homework every night - including weekends.
- Our teachers design standards-based lessons that meet our students where they are and then help them get to the next level. Our teachers use music, movement, rhyme, interactive lessons and hands-on experiences to make learning fun and ensure that we reach every student.
- Our teachers receive ongoing professional development individually, on their grade level teams and as a school.
- The rigorous college preparatory education that our students receive is further enriched with classes in character education, art, music and physical education.
- Every Rise scholar visits a college or university every year - beginning in kindergarten. This trip is provided by the school at no cost to the family.
Rise teachers ensure that students in educationally underserved communities receive an excellent, college-preparatory education. Rise teachers thrive on being part of a relentless team that fosters a culture of personal and academic excellence. This culture of high expectations does not happen in just one classroom; it permeates the entire building and results in a high quality public education.
If you believe that you have what it takes to join the Rise team, please submit a resume detailing your complete work experience and a thoughtful cover letter to Rise at hr@riseschools.org.
